about us

Hello!

We’re Krissie, Katie, and Jae — three lifelong friends who grew up sharing neighborhood adventures, inside jokes, and a love for a well-executed plan.

As life moved forward, we found ourselves at a crossroads. Proud of our careers yet craving something more, we wanted a creative, energizing pursuit that aligned with who we are at our core: system-oriented, action-focused, and motivated to help others.

That’s when The Assist was born.

The Assist is about more than checking boxes — it’s about giving yourself permission to ask for help and recognizing that doing so is a power move. We step in to lighten the load, whether it’s organizing a space, managing daily tasks, or planning a big event. Our goal is to create systems that bring clarity, calm, and the freedom to focus on what matters most.

What began as a passion project has grown into a way to combine our strengths and reflect the values we share: clarity, collaboration, and care.

We’re so glad you’re here. Let’s make a plan — and make it happen, together.

The Assist Team

Krissie Chan

Krissie founded The Assist to bring clarity, calm, and real support to busy families and individuals juggling it all. A former teacher turned organizer, she’s passionate about creating simple systems that reduce stress and make daily life more joyful. As a mom of two, she knows the value of having help and space for what matters most. Through The Assist, she combines her love of planning and problem-solving with a mission to help others feel less overwhelmed, more supported, and empowered to ask for help along the way.

Katie Freketic

Katie brings her background in finance and project management to The Assist, where she thrives on turning big-picture goals into seamless execution. She’s also the founder of Katie Eats Boston, a cookie business that blends creativity with her love of sharing joy through food. As a mom of two, she understands the juggle of family life and brings a thoughtful, results-driven approach to helping others simplify and thrive.

Jae Fusco

Jae started her career as a teacher before moving into coaching, where she found her passion for guiding others with clarity and encouragement. She has supported teachers and school leaders in building strong systems and leadership skills, most recently in a leadership role at Partners in School Innovation. At The Assist, she brings her expertise and interpersonal strengths to help clients feel organized, supported, and confident every step of the way.
